POPIA & PAIA Manual
Prepared in accordance with Section 51 of the Promotion of Access to Information Act (PAIA) and the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA).
1. Introduction & Purpose
This manual applies to Braai (Pty) LTD (Registration Number: 2026 / 374290 / 07) and its licensor BuzzGrowth (Pty) LTD (collectively "Braai"). It provides the necessary procedures for data subjects to exercise their right of access to information as mandated by South African law.

3. The PAIA Guide
The Information Regulator has, in terms of section 10 of PAIA, updated and made available the revised Guide on how to use PAIA. This guide is available in all official languages on the Information Regulator's website.
4. Categories of Records Held by Braai
A. Records Available without Request
- Public website content and landing pages.
- Publicly accessible legal policies (Terms, Privacy, Guidelines).
- Marketing materials and public announcements.
B. Records Requiring a Formal PAIA Request
- Internal financial records and tax compliance.
- Employee and contractor agreements.
- User database logs (Subject to privacy filters).
- Internal operational manuals and security protocols.
5. Processing of Personal Information (POPIA)
Braai processes personal information to provide a safe social gathering platform. Categories of data subjects include:
- Users: Identity data, contact data, usage logs, and media content.
- Merchants: Business identity data, bank details, and transaction history.
- Employees: HR records, ID documents, and payroll data.
Planned Transborder Flows: Personal information may be stored on secure cloud servers located outside South Africa (e.g., EU or USA). All such transfers are governed by data processing agreements that ensure parity with POPIA standards.
6. How to Request Access
To request access to a record, a requester must complete Form 2 (available from the Information Regulator) and submit it to the Information Officer. The request must:
- Provide sufficient detail to enable the officer to identify the record.
- Specify the right the requester is seeking to exercise or protect.
- Be accompanied by the prescribed request fee (where applicable).
